Marcel RB

Marcel RB is a painter born and raised in Barcelona with his two parents and sister. From an early age he was introduced to the world of contemporary arts by his parents, who own an art school in Sants, Barcelona, and it wasn't until he became 19 that he decided to start a career in the arts field, beginning with Fine Arts studies in the University of Barcelona. RB's interests in painting are very much related with color and composition, playing with layers of paint and their depth, creating foggy areas of color that can become immersive when you stare at them for enough time. Even if the paintings represent real places or real situations (always with some fantasy), Marcel likes to treat them as abstract compositions, putting effort in the combinations of color and composition, which end up creating an architectural way of understanding a painting. Some of his biggest influences are M. Rothko, Agnes Martin, Yves Klein and Sainer Etam.
