How we work
Grounded Kitchen believes in proper democracy in the workplace so we work with the decentralised Holacracy method to run and organise our catering business and give real ownership to the team so we can empower ourselves as colleagues instead of giving space for exploitation. This, of course, is a relatively unique way for a catering business to work and is something that we are refining as we go. We wish to develop frameworks for eco-social food in an open-source-like way to enable other organisations, businesses and chefs to work in a sustainable manner.
Our food
We aim to offer food that is as sustainable as possible, which involves a lot more that just buying the ‘bio’ brand of any product. We actively look for ingredients produced in a way that preserves or promotes biodiversity and socio-economic wealth. At the same time we want to develop culinairy culture by serving and educating people on worldy flavours made from local ingredients. We have a diverse team with an even more diverse palate, none of whom are satisified with the dutch culinairy culture. Often this results in local takes on traditional food from all over the world with a focus on seasonality and vegan or vegetarian.
